The CSMS - Free Version is the full CSMS display with the Project Management Tool plugin available. This is a useful tool for small businesses or groups that wish to manage projects efficiently and without spending tons of money for a similar tool. The tool has many options, such as: Setting up separate Projects, as well as setting up users, setting up groups, adding and editing tasks view-able as a Gantt Chart or Agile Task Board, display projected and actual budget, and display a burndown chart per project. The ability to export the data to EXCEL is also given with the free version, minus the burndown chart. All data saved from CSMS is encrypted to prevent personal information from being exposed. The option to save projects as decrypted is also an option. With this free version, registration for the closed beta of the Full Version (with the Source Analysis and private cloud service) will be given. Enjoy a project management tool with all the useful features at no cost.
What is new in this release:
- Added TFS support. Has the ability to connect to your TFS and link CSMS Users and Tasks to TFS Users and Tasks.
- Saving CSMS Tasks will also update or generate TFS Tasks.
- We suggest you use the CSMS Work Item Template (based off of Agile Tasks) but it will attempt to work with any Work Item Template.>here.
Requirements:
To fully use the Project Management Tool, you must have Team Foundation Server 2010 Object Model as well as TFS Team Explorer (included in Visual Studio 2010). A separate version will be available if there are issues with TFS 2012.
