Corrupt XLSX Salvager is designed to salvage data from corrupt Excel 2007 - 2013 'Office Open XML' XLSX extension files and convert worksheets to CSV format. XLSX files are really conventionally zipped collections of mostly XML files. The main unformatted data is contained in the sharedStrings and numbered worksheet XML files. XML is a very unforgiving medium when it comes to data corruption, thus if the sharedStrings and or worksheet XML files become even slightly corrupt, Excel sometimes has difficulty recovering the unformatted data. Corrupt XLSX Salvager uses a command line unzipping program that will unzip partially corrupt worksheet[#].xml and sharedStrings.xml files and then utilizing Perl regular expression data extraction routines which don't use XML techniques that care about well-formed XML, a stumbling block for some other Excel 2007-2013 recovery programs and for Excel itself, extract the strings and data and put the data into the right cells. Admittedly Excel itself now has strong data repair abilities, but Corrupt XLSX Salvager often will recover additional data.

New features include zip repair pretreatment and an 'Alternatives menu' with links to other software and services from recovering from Excel file corruption. Included in these is a link to Recoveronix' Online File Repair Service, accompanied with a free coupon code 'S2SERVICES', good for a $39 value free recovery. The coupon code will not expire until November 1, 2014.

What is new in this release:

* Updated the program to reflect Emil the owner of Recoveronix, kindly extending the 'S2SERVICES' coupon for free recovery service until 11/01/2014. * Now digitally signing setup and uninstall files.
