Caché Monitor is a free, multiplatform and featureful graphical software that has been designed for SQL development, allowing developers to administer components of InterSystems database Caché.

Features at a glance

Key features include an advanced SQL query editor, SQL code completion, cache-SQL syntax highlighting, SQL history buffer for executed SQL commands, graphical SQL execution plan, SQL code formatting, unlimited connections, the ability to import database connections, support for organizing servers into groups using drag and drop, tree structure for managing and browsing the server, and support for multiple simultaneous connections.

Additionally, Caché Monitor is capable of displaying namespaces, supports parameterized SQL scripts, supports multiple SQL editors, allows users to view CPF (Caché Parameter File) files, as well as image files in the JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF and BMP file formats, exports and imports classes, supports viewing of binary, plain text, HTML and XML files, and exports grid data to the SQL, Plain Text, HTML, JSON, CSV, XLS, XLSX and XML files.

Among other interesting features, we can mention that the application includes a table and global browser, a class navigator, a data inspector, fast live previewer, a SQL editor and formatter, a scripts manager, database diagrams, as well as a syntax colored SQL editor. It lets users to view the result sets as plain text or as grid, supports CLOB, BLOB and binary data, stores diagrams in the associated database, and exports directly to files.

Under the hood and supported OSes

Caché Monitor is written in the Java programming language, which means that it is a platform-independent application, compatible with any operating system where the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is available, including GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.

Distributedin multiple editions

The software is distributed as a free version with limited features, called Home Edition, as well as commercial versions that include all of the aforementioned functionality. While the Caché Monitor Professional edition costs 99 USD (77 EUR), the Caché Monitor Developer edition costs 49 USD (38 EUR).
