Bitnami Tracks Stack is a freely distributed and cross-platform software project that provides natives installers for easy deployment of the Tracks productivity application, as well as all of its dependencies on any desktop computer or laptop. It is fully compatible with all the mainstream operating systems and offers a graphical installer that is easy-to-use and user-friendly.
What is Tracks?
Tracks is an open source, free and platform-independent web-based application that has been designed from the offset to help you implement David Allen’s Getting Things Done methodology. It is a productivity application that takes things at the next level. It was created with Ruby on Rails and comes with the WEBrick web server.
Installing Bitnami Tracks Stack
The Bitnami Tracks Stack native installers have been built using the BitRock InstallBuilder tool and designed to work with all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as with the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. To install it, simply download the package that corresponds to your computer’s architecture (32-bit or 64-bit), run it and follow the on-screen instructions.
Run Tracks on the cloud
Thanks to Bitnami, it is also possible to run the Tracks software on the cloud, simply by using the pre-built cloud images developed by Bitnami for the popular Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud hosting providers. If you just want to test the Bitnami’s Tracks installer, we suggest to use the virtual machine image based on the latest stable Ubuntu operating system and designed for the Oracle VirtualBox and VMware virtualization software.
The Bitnami Tracks Module
Besides the Bitnami Tracks Stack product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a module that will help you to deploy Tracks on top on an existing Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server. The Bitnami Tracks Module is available for download separately on Softoware!
