AprendeClick is an Argentinian operating system based on the Linux kernel, derived from the award winning Debian GNU/Linux distribution and built around the lightweight Xfce desktop environment. It is designed from the ground up to be used by Spanish-speaking users.
Distributed as a dual-arch Live CD image
The distribution is available for download as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image of approximately 500MB in size. It supports both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures and must be written to a CD disc or a USB thumb drive of 1 GB or higher capacity.Includes standard boot options
Default boot options include the ability to start the operating system without installing it, boot the live system in safe graphics mode, perform a system memory diagnostic test, as well as to access a help menu, in case you want to add additional kernel parameters to any of the available boot entries.Xfce is the default and only graphical desktop environment
AprendeClick is a lightweight distribution of Linux. It features the Xfce graphical desktop environment, which comprises of a single panel located on the bottom edge of the screen, and support for the Spanish language.The software selection is quite basic
There aren’t many applications installed in this Debian-based OS. It only includes the Iceweasel and Midori web browsers, Bulk Rename batch file renaming utility, Thunar file manager, Orage calendar tool, Xfce Terminal terminal emulator, as well as the Tux Paint digital painting software and GCompris educational suite.A simple, educational and easy to use distribution of Linux
During our tests, AprendeClick proved to be quite stable and reliable. Unfortunately it includes a handful of open-source programs that will not satisfy the normal Linux user, who will have to install an email reader, music and video player, office suite, as well as many other desktop-oriented utitilies.What is new in this release:
