Apache Woden was written to work with the official W3C WSDL 2.0 specification.
WSDL is a markup language based on XML that provides a way to describe and interact with network and Web services and their end-points.
Woden provides a Java API interface for this specification, a simple class library that will let developers interact with WSDL compliant Web services using Java code.
Besides the basic CRUD functionality, Woden also includes a WSDL validation engine as well.
What is new in this release:
- A new validation framework that simplifies the development and contribution of new assertion checks has been added. This framework will assist in developing tests for the WSDL 2.0 assertions.
- Serialization (e.g. WSDLWriter) of the Woden model has been implemented.
What is new in version 1.0M8:
- 1.0M8 is the first Woden release as part of the Apache Web services project.
