Apache Turbine

Apache Turbine relies on a services-oriented architecture to let developers build well-organized Web applications.

Turbine comes with lots of built-in features, like advanced ACL management, user roles, a powerful security management system, support for Groovy scripts, and a XML-RPC service.

It also includes its own task scheduling service, a XML form validation system, and support for both JSP and Velocity engines.

Apache Turbine is also responsible for bringing Maven to the world, being the initial project for which Maven was developed to help with build processes in the first place.

What is new in this release:

• Added YAAFI Avalon service container and the corresponding TurbineYaafiComponentService.
• Fixed Bugs:
• TurbineURI was using the deprecated encode methods of URLEncoder.
• RunData.getContentType() was returning an empty string when it shouldn't
• Added missing format() methods to LocalizationTool.
• A FileItem in a ParameterParser added to TurbineURI or TemplateURI was resulting in a NPE.
• TurbineURI was mishandling the empty String.
• BrowserDetector was throwing a NPE for recent versions of Opera - this has been fixed.
• Removed remaining Merlin artifacts
• Handle non US-ASCII encoding with multipart/form-data mimetype better.
• Changes:
• Updated dependency on commons-collections to 3.2.1
• Updated dependency on commons-configuration to 1.6
• Updated dependency on commons-lang to 2.5
• Updated dependency on commons-email to 1.2
• Move to Java-5 generics.
