Apache DdlUtils provides simple Java utility classes for manipulating DDL files, that are actually simple XML files written in the Data Definition Language.
The Data Definition Language is a special markup that describes the structure in which data can be stored and is regularly used by classic RDBMS databases for their schema.
So basically DdlUtils provides an abstract method of modifying and manipulating a database's schema from the Java programming language.
Besides the Apache DdlUtils Java library, a set of Ant tasks are also included that read the DDL file and recreate the schema in a desired database.
