Apache Chukwa

Apache Chukwa is an open source and completely free software specifically designed to act as a data collection solution, which can be used for monitoring large distributed systems.

Apache Chukwa is built on top of HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System) and the Map/Reduce framework. It inherits Apache Hadoop project’s robustness and scalability.

This Apache software includes a powerful and flexible toolkit for monitoring, analyzing and displaying results, in order to make the best use of the collected data. It is distributed as a standalone application through the Apache Software Foundation.

What is new in this release:

• This release incorporates many bug fixes, improved documentation, and a variety of new features, including HBase support.
