Apache Axiom

Apache Axiom is the core library used in the Apache Axis2 project.

The Axiom library allows developers to build fictive object tree models (DOMs) for dealing with SOAP and XML streams.

Two implementations are included by default with Axiom, one using linked lists, the other mimicking the W3C DOM.

Both are highly efficient and also full XML Infoset compliant.

Axiom also includes support for XOP (XML Optimized Packaging) and MTOM (Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism).

What is new in this release:

• Axiom now uses Woodstox 4.1.x as StAX implementation (although 3.2.x and 4.0.x are still supported).
• OMFactory implementations for DOOM are now stateless.
• Several deprecated classes have been moved to a new JAR file named axiom-compat and are no longer included in the core artifacts (axiom-api, axiom-impl and axiom-dom).
