autogen.sh, also known as buildconf, is an open source command-line software that provides an automatic build preparation shell script for UNIX systems.

autogen.sh features a drop in replacement for autoreconf, as well as minimum validation, reporting and version testing. It protects your files from getting thrashed by the GNU tools and supports recursive captures signals and configure.

What is new in this release:

• This version adds several enhancements including the ability to download the latest config.guess from GNU.
• It will utilize wget, curl, or fetch based on automatic detection.
• It also recognizes the foreign automake option for any missing files and includes improved reporting.
• A minor bug in a print statement related to basename was fixed.
