TaterEdit's goal is provide a full-featured text editor in desktop environments, such as Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X.
Snippet
User can define code clip as snippet then type the abbreivate to expand as predefined code clip. In code clip, user can use snippet variable to customize the code clip at run-time.
Networking
TaterEdit supports ftp and sftp to edit remote file directly. TaterEdit supports MetaWeblog protocol to download and publish blog directly. TaterEdit support MediaWiki API to view Wikipedia or other wiki hosted by MediaWiki. (update will be supported in future release).

Encoding
TaterEdit support many charater encodings, such as ASCII, UTF-8, ISO-8859-1, Big5, Shift-JIS, GBK.
User can open the different encoded text file, and convert it to supported encoding.
File Session
File session enable user to group relative files and switch job quickly. For example, user can groups the HTML documents as one file session, and group C files related to protocol development as one file session, and group the GUI part of C files as another file session. And switch daily job between these file sessions.
Hex Editing
In TaterEdit, user can open binary file in hex mode and edit it.
