Bitnami TestLink Module is a free and cross-platform software project, a companion to the Bitnami TestLink Stack product that allows you to deploy the TestLink application on top of a Bitnami LAMP installation.
What is TestLink?
TestLink is an open source web-based test management application that facilitates software quality assurance. It offers support for test suites, test cases, test plans, user management, test projects, as well as various statistics and reports.
Installing Bitnami TestLink Module
Bitnami’s native installers automate the setup of a Bitnami application stack on GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. To install TestLink on top of your Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server, just download the file the corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit or 64-bit), run it and follow the instruction on the screen.
Run TestLink on the cloud or virtualize it
In addition to installing TestLink on your personal computer, or on top of a Bitnami LAMP server, you can also deploy it on the cloud using the Amazon EC2 and Windows Azure cloud images, as well as to virtualize it using the Ubuntu-based virtual machine images for the Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software.
TestLink Docker container
In the near future, Bitnami will also provide users with a TestLink container for the powerful and popular Docker open development platform. Go to the project’s homepage (see link below) if you want to join the Bitnami Docker beta program.
The Bitnami TestLink Stack
Besides the Bitnami TestLink Module product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers an all-in-one native installer for the TestLink application, which allows anyone to deploy a standalone version of TestLink and all of its dependencies on a desktop computer or laptop, without having to know anything about installing a web/database server. The Bitnami TestLink Stack is available for download for free on Softoware.
