Bitnami SuiteCRM Stack

Bitnami SuiteCRM Stack is a free and multiplatform software project that has been designed from the offset to ease the installation and hosting of the SuiteCRM application, as well as of its runtime dependencies, on desktop computers and laptops. It is available for download as native installers, cloud images, a virtual appliance, as well as a Docker container.

What is SuiteCRM?

SuiteCRM is a completely free and open source enterprise-grade CRM (Customer Relationship Management) application that runs on top of a web browser, such as Apache or nginx. As its name might suggests, it’s a fork of the popular SugarCRM customer relationship management (CRM) system.

Installing Bitnami SuiteCRM Stack

Bitnami SuiteCRM Stack is distributed mainly as native installers for personal computers, built using the BitRock InstallBuilder tool and designed for 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures. It supports GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems.

To install the SuiteCRM application and all of its server-related requirements on your PC, you will have to download the file that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Host SuiteCRM in the cloud

In addition to installing SuiteCRM on desktop computers and laptops, you can host it in the cloud, thanks to Bitnami’s pre-build cloud images designed to work with both Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers.

Virtualize SuiteCRM on VirtualBox and VMware

It is also possible to virtualize SuiteCRM, as Bitnami provides a virtual appliance based on the latest LTS (Long Term Support) release of the Ubuntu Linux operating system, designed for the VMware ESX, ESXi and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software.

Besides the Bitnami SuiteCRM Stack product reviewed here, users can also download Bitnami SuiteCRM Module, which has been designed to help users with the deployment of the SuiteCRM application on top of Bitnami LAMP, WAMP and MAMP stacks.
