After years of research and development we are ready to present you the prototype of Aximion 3.0. It's not just a result of evolution of previous versions but a completely new paradigm of UI. Aximions prior to 3.0 were just a 3D environment that integrates native windows into it but Aximion 3.0 is much more than this - it does not integrate with OS, at least for now, but attempts to create independent environment with its own objects, rules and concepts without any restrictions imposed by OS and its legacy objects' life-cycle. One of major concepts is a Topic. The Topic is an idea of grouping different aspects of a single project/context/topic into a single entity. For example if you have some project you may want to gather all related files, links, remote and other resources in one place and organize them according to your preferences. The Desktops stand for it. They look similar to regular desktops but can contain special elements - Avatars. Each type of Avatars represents some aspect of your particular Topic. Their important feature is to change their look accordingly to its importance for user or to other needs and its look may vary from a simple icons to a mini applications. Another interesting feature is a persistent addresses for all objects - something that does not exists in any OS but inherent for the Web. With such ability we are now able to refer to any object using semantics similar to URL. This allows us to create links and so to have a navigation history. When you create something it always has fixed or random address assigned to it and all data related to that instance is kept until at least one reference exists to this object. So having these abilities you now can have links to any internal Aximion objects as well as to files, webpages, etc. There are several places in Aximion to help users organize their environments: Quick Area - here you place links you need just right now. It works similar to tab bar of your browser. Head Area - all links placed here are always available for user. History - this is a history of you navigation Desktops - the areas where you place Avatars for specific topic. You can create as many desktops as you need and also you can attach one desktop to another - it may be useful when you need to share some elements between different topics. Commander - acts as an example of Aximion's application
