Morkdown has been specially created to work with GitHub Flavored Markdown (an enhanced version of the Markdown markup language created, deployed and used by/on GitHub).
By default, when starting Morkdown, the editor loads to panels side by side. This is the default "edit mode".
The one on the left is for writing or pasting the Markdown-formatted text. The one on the right is for previewing the results in real-time.
There's an additional mode called "watch mode" which allows Morkdown to be used with some OS-native text editors.
