rstdiary works by reading a local .cfg file and assembling the site from an RST file.

Webmasters can use the configuration file to add information about the location of the RST file where the blog entries are located, the location of the outputted HTML site, the site's root URL, the title of the blog, the author's name and his link-back information.

The content of the RST file are just the blog entries added one on top of the each other, with the latest blog post at the top.

Each of these blog entries will be pulled from the RST file and added to the site based on a pre-configured template, and saved inside a local folder as one single HTML file.

Blog entries are listed vertically inside the HTML file, and without any excerpts. Their content is listed in its entirety and users can't click on the blog title to have an isolated look at just one blog entry.

However, to prevent rstdiary from generating huge HTML files, a new HTML for each month of the year.

An Atom XML syndication feed is also generated, if you want to let readers follow your activity via RSS readers.
