Static websites were the first and only way of building and hosting websites on the Internet. But as technologies evolved, so did the way websites were being built.

But the circle has been completed, with a recent surge in static site generators that come back to the ancient method of hosting a website as a collection of static HTML page and resources.
Cabin is a static site generator, a complex system and publishing methodology that allows developers to store the site's content in separate Markdown files and then compile them to HTML using pre-built template files.
Cabin relies on a well organized file and folder structure for creating complex site structures, and also on Markdown syntax to format the content itself.
Themes are also supported, along with an easy to edit configuration file that governs the entire site's functions.
Overall Cabin is a very reliable system for hosting simpler websites without having to deal with complex CMSs, and the system also allows serving sites and their resources at higher speeds since there's no delay with server0side processing operations.
