What was once a system resembling Elefant CMS, Anchor CMS or PyroCMS is now a top-shelf solution in the world of Web development, a powerful system that can adapt to any project, work from any hosting, and scale along with your business.

Designed with standards in mind, supporting all the new technologies, and also catering for mobile devices, TYPO3 has stayed up to date with the world around it.

There's an installation wizard to help webmasters set it up, an administration panel for building and then managing the site, and a simple WYSIWYG editing mechanism for actually writing and editing all the page's content.

While most features you find in CMS platforms are in TYPO3 as well, the real advantages of using it are in its extensions framework, a powerful system that lets developers enhance built-in functionality.

This can be done by writing extensions yourself following the TYPO3 API, or by simply buying them from an extensions marketplace.

What is new in version 6.1.3:

• These versions include important security fixes to the TYPO3 core.
• A regression in the file abstraction layer (FAL) made use of the deleted flag for sys_file objects that was not handled properly. The changed that caused this regression has been reverted again. The "File Abstraction Layer Indexing job" in the TYPO3 scheduler can be used to fix possible inconsistencies in the database that have been produced by this regression.
• Another regression in the Extbase MVC component, which produced wrong language overlays in the website front-end of nested domain entities, has been completely reverted as well.

What is new in version 6.1.1:

• New installations get the correct field definition from start (bug fixed).
• Old installations updating to the newest patch level by simply updading the TYPO3 Sources (usual procedure): No change of functionality, nothing breaks. But the bug won't be fixed.
• Old installations which need this bug fixed need to apply the TYPO3 Source Upgrade and do an one time "Database Compare" in the Install Tool afterwards.
