974 Application Server is an open source, cross-platform and free graphical application that has been created from the ground up to help users with the development of powerful web apps, emphasizing clustered load balancing and security.

Features at a glance

Key features of the 974 Application Server application include powerful web development environment, high availability. PL/SQL extensible, secure server, graphical user interface, and 100% Java code.

Rapidly redistribute your web apps

The software is based on the DBSConnector (DataBase Server Connector) kernel and has been engineered in such a way that it will allow you to rapidly redistribute your web apps on the same cluster to other customers.

Gathers all of your databases and networks

It will make sure that you can connect all of your databases (both SQL and noSQL databases are supported), as well as all of your networks into a single container, like you would have only one database.

Getting started with 974 Application Server

To use the 974 Application Server software on your GNU/Linux operating system, you will have to download the latest release from either Softoware or the project’s website, save the archive on a location of your choice, unpack it, open the extracted folder, edit the startup.sh file and add the path to your JRE installation, then double click on the startup.sh file.

Under the hood

While taking a quick look under the hood of the 974 Application Server project, we’ve noticed that it is written entirely in the Java programming language and that it is supported on both 32 and 64-bit computer platforms.
