irker is an open source command-line software written in Python and designed as an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client. It runs in the background, as a daemon.

irker is able to accept notification requests as JSON objects and it's meant to be used by hook scripts in version-control repos.

This tool is intended to be installed on forge sites, such as GitHub, SourceForge, Gitorious, Savannah, and Gna.
