Bitnami OXID eShop Stack is a free and multiplatform software project that has been designed from the ground up to be an easy-to-install and easy-to-use distribution of the OXID eShop e-commerce system, as well as all of its runtime dependencies, on virtually any Linux kernel-based operating systems.
What is OXID eShop?
OXID eShop is an open source, web-based, flexible and trusted e-commerce application that features a wide range of functionality, a modern and modular architecture, and it is highly customizable and expendable.
Installing Bitnami OXID eShop Stack
As the OXID eShop stack from Bitnami is distributed as universal, native installers, the user can install it on any GNU/Linux distribution, simply by downloading the package that corresponds to his/her computer’s hardware architecture, 32-bit or 64-bit, run it and follow the instructions provided on the screen.
Run OXID eShop on the cloud
Thanks to Bitnami, users are now able to run their own OXID eShop stack server on the cloud with their hosting platform or by using a pre-built cloud image that have been designed by Bitnami to support the Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers.
OXID eShop Docker container, VM image
In addition to run OXID eShop on the cloud or install it on your personal computer, you can also virtualize it using Bitnami’s state-of-the-art, Ubunu-based virtual machine image for Oracle VirtualBox and VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software, as well as to use the Docket container.
The Bitnami OXID eShop Module
Besides the Bitnami OXID eShop Stack product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a module for deploying OXID eShop on top of a Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) stack, without having to deal with its runtime dependencies. Bitnami OXID eShop Module is much smaller in size than Bitnami OXID eShop Stack, and can be downloaded from Softoware, free of charge.
