wSecure Authentication is similar to the WP Admin Block plugin, working the same way, requiring users to enter a custom URL to access the login page or be redirected to the homepage.
The default login URL will be in the form of:
http://yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/?SECRETCODE
There are though some differences compared to WP Admin Block:
- it works with older versions of WordPress
- it can be turned off without uninstalling the plugin
- it can redirect users to a custom page
wSecure Authentication is also available under a commercial license, with even more features:
- get email notifications about bad login attempts
- limit access based on an IP whitelist
- limit access based on an IP blacklist
- block access to plugin settings page for other admins (via password)
- set how much time to keep logs in the database
Installation:
Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
