Spell Catcher 8 is a spelling and typing correction application that works with the operating system and allows you to correct spelling, punctuation, and create macros in virtually every application. Spell Catcher works interactively or in batch correction mode, even if your application has its own built-in spell checking feature. The new version is a free update for previous owners of Spell Catcher 8, and offers a number of feature enhancements, bug-fixes, and anew dictionary-converting application, the Spell Catcher Converter. This application can convert user-defined dictionaries into the Spell Catcher 8 format automatically, without the user having to manually re-enter special entries.
What is new in this release:
This version of Spell Catcher 8 was created to address basic issues related to the transition of the product from Casady & Greene to Rainmaker Research.
A number of resources have been modified, notably those containing references to Casady & Greene. This includes certain strings, copyright notices, titles of menu items, text and images in the About and Registration windows. Any URLs that opened to C&G's web site now open to an equivalent or similar location (where possible) on Rainmaker's web site.
The Updater and forthcoming installer will work properly in the Classic environment on OS X, important for owners of new Macs that can't boot into OS 9.
Requirements:
Mac OS 8.6 or higher
Spell Catcher 8.1.2
