In Bookworm Deluxe, players try to score points by connecting lettered titles (which are randomly placed around a library) to form words. If no words can be created, the tiles can be scrambled for a new layout. But scrambling the tiles too often will create fire tiles, which will burn down the library should they reach the bottom. Once a word has been submitted, Lex the bookworm will eat the word and then dole out fresh letters to replace the missing ones. Extra points can be scored by spelling bonus words and by forming words with the green and gold tiles.
