Bitnami Typo3 Stack

Bitnami Typo3 Stack is a free and cross-platform software project that has been designed to greatly simplify the installation of Typo3 and its dependencies. It can be deployed using native installers for all mainstream operating systems, on the cloud or as a virtual machine. A module for an already installed infrastructure stack, such as Bitnami LAMP is also available for Typo3.

What is Typo3?

Typo3 is one of the oldest and most powerful Ruby on Rails blogware, providing its users with custom templates, powerful drag and drop plugins API, advanced SEO capabilities, XMLRPC API and many other ground-breaking features. It is an open source enterprise-grade CMS (Content Management System) that offers SEO-friendly URLs, a powerful WYSIWYG editor, as well as a very powerful plugin architecture that allows you to extend and customize your website.

Installing Bitnami Typo3 Stack

For Typo3, Bitnami provides users with native installers built using the BitRock InstallBuilder tool and designed to be compatible with any GNU/Linux distribution, as well as with the Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems. To install Typo3 on your computer, just download the package the corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture, run it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Run Typo3 on the cloud

Thanks to Bitnami, users can also run the Typo3 CMS on the cloud using the pre-built cloud images designed for the Windows Azure and Amazon EC2 cloud hosting provides. In addition, you can virtualize Typo3 using the virtual machines provided by Bitnami for the VMware and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software.

Bitnami Typo3 Module

Besides the Bitnami Typo3 Stack product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a module that helps you to install only the Typo3 CMS software on an existing Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server. The Bitnami Typo3 Module is available for download separately on Softoware!
