KSuse LXDE is an open source and free desktop-oriented operating system derived from the highly acclaimed openSUSE Linux distribution and built around the lightweight LXDE desktop environment. It is specially designed for low-end machines and computers with old or semi-old hardware components.
Distributed as a 32-bit Live DVD
The LXDE edition of KSuse is distributed as a bootable Live DVD ISO image that contains software packages optimized only for 32-bit (x86) hardware platforms). The ISO image has approximately 1 GB in size and can be deployed on a DVD disc or a USB thumb drive of 2GB or higher capacity.

The Live DVD boot menu of KSuse LXDE is quite identical with the one of the openSUSE Linux operating systems, allowing the user to start the live system with normal configuration or in safe graphics mode, boot an existing OS from the local disk drive, run a throughput system memory test, change the language and video mode, as well as to pass extra parameters to the kernel.
Low on resources system, thanks to LXDE
Because the distribution is built around LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment), it is low on resources and can be easily deployed on computers that have no more than 512MB of RAM and a CPU from 5 to 10 years ago. The graphical interface is simple, easy to use and familiar, boasting a traditional layout comprised of a single panel located on the bottom edge of the screen.
Comes pre-loaded with lightweight apps
Being designed from the ground up to be as lightweight and low on resources as possible, the distribution comes pre-loaded with lightweight apps. Among some of the most important ones, we can mention the Chromium web browser, PCManFM file manager, AbiWord word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, Leafpad text editor, and Wine for installing Windows apps and games.
