Technical Specifications
TapeDeck records using the following settings:
- HQ (High Quality) - 44.100Hz (if the rate is locked), Apple Lossless encoding
- MQ (Medium Quality) - 44.100Hz, 16-bit, 64kbps (mono) or 128kbps (stereo) AAC
- LQ (Low Quality) - 22.050Hz, 16-bit, 24kbps (mono) or 48kbps (stereo) AAC
Notes:
- When recording with an advanced audio device with more than two channels of input, TapeDeck only records using the first 2 channels in stereo mode, or the first channel in mono mode.
- Apple Lossless encoding will preserve the full fidelity of your recordings when the sample rate is unlocked in the audio preferences. For example, if you're recording with a 96kHz, 24-bit device, the Apple Lossless codec will ensure that the full 24-bits of dynamic range are preserved.
- Apple Lossless tapes can be dragged from TapeDeck directly into Logic Pro and Garage Band for further processing. (This was tested with tapes all the way up to 192kHz, 24-bit, using a MOTU Traveler.)
