Penplate was designed to help developers implement a basic inline, in-page & in-place editor for your Web projects.
The editor itself closely resembles the one used by the Medium.com blogging platform, a basic concept that has helped replace bulky rich text editors like TinyMCE or CKEditor.
Instead of using multi-line toolbars to help users format their texts, Penplate only shows a small formatting toolbox only when the user selects a piece of text.
Basic controls for making the text bold, italic, and adding an underline are included, along with inserting links, headers, and blockquotes.
The editor is also easy to extend with new controls, as long as you're willing to do the coding yourself.
Penplate can be used as a stand-alone tool with your future project, or developers can also easily integrate it with more complex platforms as a plugin or add-on as well.
