Ackee is a lightweight alternative to Google Analytics and Piwik, all large, bulky traffic analytics systems.
It works the same way, requiring webmasters to add a tracking code to their sites and then sending details about each user that access its pages to the Ackee data collectors.
This information can be viewed inside a specially crafted, password-protected admin panel, where admins can view information about what pages have been accessed the most, what are the top referral sources, most common browser types used to view the site, and also view a graph of recent visits in the last days.
All information is quite easy to understand and provides a basic overview of how popular the site is amongst your visitors. If you want more details about your site's traffic, we recommend a more complex system like Piwik, which is also self-hostable.
You can add as many websites you want to an Ackee installation, and you can also some general basic Ackee settings via a special file.
Installation instructions are provided with the package's README file.
