Bitnami topLog Stack

Bitnami topLog Stack is a free software project whose mail goal is to provide users with an all-in-one graphical installer app that allows them to effortlessly deploy the topLog web-based application, as well as its runtime dependencies, on personal computers and laptops. The installer includes ready-to-run versions of Apache, PHP, MySQL, Java, Elasticsearch, OpenSSL, logstash, logstash-forwarder, Redis, and topLog software.

What is topLog?

topLog is an open source web-based application written in PHP and Java using powerful technologies like Elasticsearch, Redis, MySQL, OpenSSL, and logstash, to provide an all-in-one log management solution. Among other attractive features, the software can be used to easily monitor the performance of your system.

Installing Bitnami topLog Stack

Deploying topLog is easy as pie with the Bitnami topLog Stack installer, as users will only have to download the package that corresponds to their computer’s CPU architecture, 32 or 64-bit, save the file on a location of their choice, make it executable (right click on the package, go to Preferences, access the Permissions tab, and check the “Allow executing file as program” options), double click it, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Run topLog in the cloud on a virtual machine

In addition to deploying topLog on a personal computer, users will also be able to run the application in the cloud using Bitnami’s pre-built cloud images for the Amazon EC2, Windows Azure or Google Cloud cloud hosting platforms. In addition, Bitnami provides a virtual appliance based on the latest LTS release of Ubuntu Linux, helping users to run topLog as a virtual appliance on either VMware ESX/ESXi or Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software.

The topLog Docker container

Bitnami also offers a Docker container for topLog, but only for selected users who sign up for its Docker Beta program. Unfortunately, a Bitnami topLog Module for Bitnami’s LAMP, MAMP or WAMP stacks is not available at this time. Bitnami topLog Stack is only available for Linux kernel-based operating systems at the time of writing this article.
