ReadyMedia is an open soruce command-line software written in C and designed to act as a non-interactive daemon for streaming files over a local network.
Previously known as MiniDLNA, ReadyMedia offers a simple, easy-to-use and DLNA-compatible UPnP media server engineered only for Linux operating systems.
Originally developed by a NETGEAR employee, for the ReadyNAS product line, ReadyMedia aims to be fully compliant with DLNA/UPnP-AV clients.
ReadyMedia supports streaming of various multimedia files, including but not limited to FLAC, OGG, MP3, JPEG, PNG, and any other file format supported by FFmpeg.

- Add magic container infrastructure.
- Add magic containers for 50 recent items for each category.
- Fix bad null termination in AAC parsing.
- Fix requests for the last byte of a file, which affected MKV playback on Philips TV's.
- Support 64-bit time_t values

- Add network interface monitoring support on Linux.
- Don't require a configured network interface to start up.
- Fix some minor spec compliance issues.
