AirStream

AirStream is a cross-platform, totally free (for PC) and commercial (for Android) graphical application implemented in Java and designed from the offset as a handy utility for streaming your entire movie collection from PC to a mobile device.

Getting started with AirStream

Before installing and using AirStream, make sure that both your computer and mobile device(s) are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Install the application using one of the methods provided on the dedicated download page above.

After installation, you will be able to access your Google Drive and Dropbox accounts. To access the files stored on your computer, make sure that you register and login with the same credentials on both the PC and mobile device.

The mobile application will automatically detect the AirStream server running on your computer, offering you a way to browse your entire computer, and stream the media you want to your Android or iOS powered devices.

Being written in the Java programming language, AirStream is a cross-platform and portable application that supports GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X computer operating systems, as well as the Android and iOS mobile operating systems. A Chromecast version of AirStream is also available for download, called AirCast.

Officially supported distributions of Linux include any Debian-based operating system, the Arch Linux distribution, as well as any other Linux distro where the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) technology is available. Supported CPU architectures include 64-bit and 32-bit. However, users should first register via the mobile app at http://airstream.io.
