ReadRemaining.js is a jQuery plugin that displays a small tooltip in the bottom left corner of a browser window, showing how much it would take to read the page's content.
This estimated reading time is calculated based on the speed at which the user scrolls the page.
By using this type of algorithm the estimated value is different for each user, being specifically tailored to his actual reading capabilities.
ReadRemaining.js works only with homogenous scrolling motions and also comes with a few customizable parameters.
These include settings related to the reading indicator's position, the time format, and min/max values outside which the estimation is not printed on the page.
Examples and usage instructions are included with the download package.
