Countable

Countable can provide real-time statistics about a text block. This includes the number of characters (with or without spaces), the number of words, and the number of paragraphs.

The library doesn't depend on a JavaScript framework like jQuery or MooTools and can be used for creating text counting apps or under the hood for more complex applications, plugins, and add-ons.

Various callbacks and options are available, including support for paragraph hard returns, return ignoring, and HTML tag stripping.

A sample page is included with the Countable download package.

What is new in this release:

• Sentence counting has been added. The number of sentences (sentences) can be accessed as part of the counter object.
• Countable.once is now aliased as Countable.count
• Zero-width characters are now ignored by default. This can be changed using the ignoreZeroWidth option.
