TurnKey PhreeBooks Live CD is an open source software appliance that provides users with an easy-to-use method for deploying dedicated PhreeBooks servers in a few minutes with minimal effort. It is based on the well known Debian GNU/Linux operating system.
PhreeBooks (formerly Phreedom) is an open source web-based and modular ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) application that's capable of tracking inventory, contracts, accounting, check writing, and bank account reconciliation.
Key features include all the upstream PhreeBooks configurations installed in /var/www/phreedom, out-of-the-box support for secure connections, the phpMyAdmin software for administering MySQL databases, Webmin modules for configuring PHP, MySQL, Postfix and Apache, and a Postfix mail server for sending emails to users.
The appliance is distributed as Live CD ISO images, downloadable from the dedicate section (see above), as well as virtual images in the OVF, Xen, OpenStack, OpenNode and OpenVZ formats from the project's homepage.
While the default username for the Postfix, MySQL, Webmin and SSH components is root, the default Phreedom username is admin. After the installation, which requires users to only partition the disk and setup the bootloader, users will be able to enter a password for the root account, as well as to set a new password for the MySQL 'root' account.
In addition, users must enter a password and a valid email account for the Phreedom 'admin' account. Optionally, they can initialize the TurnKey Domain Management, Dynamic DNS, Migration and Backup services.
At the end of the first boot configuration process, the appliance will display the IP addresses and ports for the Web Shell, SSH, SFTP, phpMyAdmin, Webmin, and main Phreedom website, so don't forget to write them all down on a piece of paper.
The server can be rebooted or shutdown directly from the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, from where users can also configure the network interfaces.
