Leeenux is a commercial Linux distribution for the well known EeePC line of netbooks from ASUS. It is based on the Ubuntu OS and build around LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment), providing users with a very fast, stable and lightweight operating system.

It is distributed into multiple editions, including LXDE 2G for ASUS EEE 701 2G, LXDE M Standard for all netbooks with a Celeron M CPU, as well as LXDE M Deluxe for all netbooks with a Celeron M CPU, but with the Skype, Wine, PlayOnLinux, Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader, and many other apps and games.

In addition, it is available as a LXDE Standard edition for all netbooks with the exception of those with a  Celeron M CPU, such as Atom-powered ones, and LXDE Deluxe edition, which supports the same type of netbooks as the LXDE Standard flavor, but with additional applications pre-installed.

Leeenux is actually a remix of the EasyPeasy Linux distribution, which in turn was based on the Ubuntu Netbook Remix operating system. It can be easily installed on any EeePC netbook with at least 2GB of free SSD space.

Default applications include the Audacious audio player, Mozilla Firefox web browser, guvcview webcam viewer, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, mtPaint graphic editor, Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger, Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, VLC Media Player, as well as Transmission BitTorrent client.

Additionally, it comes with various utilities, such as an archive manager, a character map, PCManFM file manager, Krusader twin-panel file manager, GPicView image viewer, Leafpad text editor, LXTerminal terminal emulator, Xpad note-taking app, and Disks disk management software.

You should use Leeenux on your ASUS EeePC computer because it's easy to install, easy to use, fast, stable, works out of the box, uses a special version of the LXDE desktop environment tailored for 7" screens, and prolongs the battery life on your netbook.
