webgen reads data from templates and content files providing the tools for generating dynamic content like menus, modules, links, etc. and saving them in a static structure like HTML.
It's basically a classic static site generator, implemented to support dynamic content, while still outputting static data, for easier user delivery and smaller server loads.
If you know what Jekyll is and what's good for, webgen is the same. Consider it a good alternative to Jekyll.
As with any other static site generator, before getting started with any kind of project, it may be a very good idea to read the documentation first.
