XOOPS

XOOPS is a long-standing CMS projects, a website builder that has been around for years, being one of the first and the best of its kind.

Everything about the XOOPS CMS revolves around open source and community, from the available modules, to the current themes, and community-driven CMS development process.

This CMS is an ideal tool for developing small, medium, or large community-driven websites.

This means company portals, Intranets, corporate portals, weblogs, forums, and so on.

The core XOOPS functionality can be extended via modules, and there are lots of themes that webmasters can install and customize their site with.

Overall the CMS may be a little bit old for what users expect to get, but it handles user communities as great as the newer tools.

What is new in this release:

• This release is focused on making XOOPS 2.5.7 fully compatible with PHP 5.5.x, on security enhancements, bug fixing, and on updating external libraries to their latest versions.
• Angelo Rocha also has provided this new cool theme: the xBootstrap theme, based on Bootstrap.

• In addition to bugs fixed in 2.5.2, this release is reverting fix for bug ID: 2672723 (Changed the code in Install to omits the SQL command: "ALTER DATABASE ... CHARACTER SET ..."), which was impacting new installations.
