Tweetsie is a work-around for Twitter's Widget service, an app that allows users to create simple timeline widgets and then embed them on remote sites.
While this can be very very useful after the infinitely complex Twitter API 1.1 version has been released and thwarted most of the jQuery and WordPress plugins that accomplished this, there still is the issue of the annoying Twitter UI style that comes packed with the Widget service.
Tweetsie lets developers extract the content from one of these widgets, packs it nicely as a JSON and then dumps it on any page you wish, using your own custom template and UI styles.
To use Tweetsie there's no need to get API credentials, but you'll need to create a Twitter widget and get its ID.
A simple demo is included with the download package.
