Haste is a self-hosted version of Pastebin which uses a Redis database or the local file system to store all the added content.
It can be used for both raw text and source code files, letting developers easily write or copy-paste their content inside one of the pads.
Once added, this content can be saved and then shared via an unique URL with your friends or on Twitter.
Once saved the file cannot be edited anymore and the user must duplicate and edit it in a new pad.
This indirectly provides a simple version control system for all the shared text, as long as you keep track of all the URLs.
There's also support for Memcached and in-depth installation instructions are provided with the package's README file.
A PHP version of Haste is also available as the Phastebin project.
