As all UI and UX experts might tell you, there's no actual value in having a slider or carousel on your website. It's actually the other way around. The slideshows helps break the user's focus from more important site controls, it's pretty heavy, and slows down page load times, a crucial factor for the site's SEO ranking.

Unfortunately almost all clients love them, and since developers get paid and make a living by the customer's taste and whims, carousels are a main-stay in today's Web development market.

The Slick jQuery plugin is quite a new carousel slider on the slideshow market, packed with lots of features, yet fully responsive and mobile-ready.

The plugin uses CSS 3 for transitions whenever they're supported, and falls back on jQuery animations where they're not.

All the basic features are included, along with the proper documentation and examples to get you started on using the plugin.
