Stunt Rally is an open source, free and cross-platform car racing simulation game based on the VDrift and OGRE (O-O Graphics Rendering Engine). It features 147 tracks in 26 sceneries, 19 cars and 4 vehicles, as well as track editor. The game focuses on closed rally tracks and stunt elements like loops, jumps or pipes.

Includes 9 different game modes and game controllers support

To make the game more attractive, its developers included support for game controllers and 9 different game modes. These are Single Race, Ghost drive, Track's ghost, Replays, Tutorials, Championships, Challenges, Split Screen and Multiplayer. The player must try each one to see what it does.

The most important are Single Race, which will entertain players with over four hours of driving, Ghost drive because it lets you to chase your best time, Track's ghost as it allows you to chase the best drive for track, Challenges because it makes everything more fun, and Multiplayer or Split Screen as it lets you play with a friend or more.

It’s written in C++, supports Linux and Windows OSes

A quick look under the hood will show us that the game is written entirely in the C++ programming language and supports both GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems. The user interface is written with the Ogre3D object-oriented hardware accelerated 3D engine.

Availability and minimum hardware requirements

Being an open source project, Stunt Rally can be downloaded from its official website or via Softoware (see download link above) as a source archive. However, newbies should install it from the default software repositories of their Linux distributions.

Minimum hardware include a CPU with 2 cores running at 2.0GHz and a GeForce 9600 GT or Radeon HD 3870 graphics card with Shader Model 3.0 and 256MB of RAM. These are required for the game to run properly.

  • If track didn't change, reloads only cars. Shift-F5 forces full reload.
  • Reset (F4) also restores dynamic objects positions

  • Reworked file format now 4x smaller size
  • Use button on Replays-Tools tab to Convert all old (takes some time)
