SoftEcartJS is a light solution which can be used for small scale stores that don't require a large backend to work.
If the site's owner wants to sell a few products online and doesn't want to use Magento or PrestaShop's bulky codebases to set it up, SoftEcartJS can be a good alternative.
This script was coded using technologies like jQuery, JSON, and Handlebars, and relies on showing a list of products on the page.
Store visitors can click the classic "Add to cart" button to add their desired products to the shopping cart widget, which at the end they can use to review their order and/or checkout.
SoftEcartJS works via AJAX, so adding a product to the cart won't reload the page, and a small on-page indicator will let the user know how many items he has in his cart at any given time.
Viewing the full shopping cart product list is done also without refreshing the page, all items being listed in an easy to understand table underneath the product catalog.
Support for product descriptions, presentation images, lightbox integration, adjustable product quantities, and automatic cart total calculation is also included.
