The Kill switch library is for developers working on a regular basis with freelance contracts.
As most of us that have ever taken a freelancing contract know, the biggest problem is with the final payment, which not all clients tend to take care of.
For these situations where a client chooses to not pay the final installment of his contract, the Kill switch library can really help developers.
This small piece of JavaScript code can load and execute a remote JS file without the client even knowing what's happening, or even after the client has locked the developer out of the server and site's backend.
The developer can fight back against the customer by:
- blacking out the Web page
- redirecting the site to a new URL
- removing the page body
- removing all the vowels on the site
- loading random background colors for each page element
- replace all images on the site
