Skimzee is a free web app for searching and gathering all your favourite articles and being able to view each one as a concise summary. You can dynamically control how short or long a summary is simply by moving a slider left or right. Skimzee also automatically discovers social media and other content that is relevant to the page you're summarizing. You can search with Skimzee from Twitter, facebook, general web pages, news sites, YouTube and Wikipedia. When you click the "view summary" icon in a search result you'll get a summary of the page for that link - all without having to navigate away from the Skimzee page. If a search result has an associated video or photo, you can view it right in Skimzee eg. pictures in Tweets, embedded photos or videos in facebook posts etc. Skimzee also provides an easy-to use web feed aggregator - just add any feeds of your choice from the settings page and they'll appear in a drop-down list on the main page. From the settings page you can even search for any feeds you want to add to your list. And just like with search results, each feed result can be summarized. The 'Feeds' tab also lets you list trending and featured YouTube videos and integrates with facebook so that you can list your facebook feed or wall posts and summarize / display any links, photos and videos from each one. To round it off, there's also a Skimzee bookmarklet and Chrome extension that adds a toolbar icon to let you automatically summarize the current web page. The extension provides a very useful right-click context menu item for summarizing any link on a page.
