SearchBar is a little utility that will allow you to quickly perform searches in your favorite web based search engines, like Google, Apple Developer Documentation and many more, and will display the results in your favorite browser. SearchBar allows you to access those search engines quickly by providing a customizable user interface, including a global menu bar icon, a hot key, a floating window and many more options! SearchBar contains an extensive list of search engines (over 45!) and this list grows with every release.
What is new in this release:
- Added german localization (David Kiltz)
- Rewrote entirely the Preferences panel, it now looks like a real Mac OS X application's preferences panel
- Added the ability to add separators to the the engines menu
- Added the ability to sort the engines by name, and by drag and drop
- Added frtracker.com (http://www.frtracker.com)
- Added dogpile.com (http://www.macplus.net)
- Added WQXR Grove Music (http://www.wqxr.com/cgi-bin/iowa/cla/learning/grove.html)
- Added dogpile.com (http://www.dogpile.com)
- Added osxfacile.com (http://www.osxfacile.com)
- Added frtracker.com (http://www.frtracker.com)
- Added chezmarc.com (http://www.chezmarc.com)
- You can now have neither the icon in the menu bar nor the icon in the dock (beware though, you really should set a HotKey first, or it's going to be hard to get SearchBar back to the foreground if you close the window)
- Fixed bug that caused the incorrect window to reappear when relaunching SearchBar (vertical/horizontal big/small)
- Fixed bug that caused the position of the horizontal SearchBar window to be used in place of the vertical's Note: there is more to come to customize the engines menu, just hold on! I really wanted to get a new version quickly with this updated preferences panel, that's why there is still some work on my to do list. I say 'some' but there is a lot of work left actually (see the To Do section for more info on what's next).
Requirements:
- Mac OS X 10.1 or higher
