Zoie

Zoie was developed by LinkedIn and is built on Apache Lucene.

It works by indexing data and immediately making it available for search queries. This is done very rapidly, without affecting current input searches or other performance parameters.

This means Zoie is not a scheduled index&update process, but a system that constantly scans for new data, creating new entries in its database as soon as it detects new data.

The Zoie package is perfect for providing a real-time search functionality for websites handling news, jobs, profile updates, tweets, etc.. Basically any service with a large output stream and real-time updates.
