Calculating the path loss of a wireless channel is fundamental to wireless system design. Path loss determines the distance that the wireless signal travels and consequently the coverage area. There are many empirical models for calculating the path loss such as Okumura Model, Hata Model, COST-231 Model and SUI Model. All these models have certain limitations such as the frequency of operation over which these models are applicable, distance, base station and mobile station antenna heights.
Our Path Loss Calculator provides an easy to use interface to calculate the path loss using the above models as well as some other models. The parameters for these scenarios are already fed in so you do not have to look up a table or chart every time you perform a calculation. We can also customize this application to your needs so that you can go about the design of your wireless system efficiently and economically. What is new in this release:
Version 1.3 comes with the enhancement to Bertoni Walfisch Model.
