It contains all essential functionalities like: a stellar map with a lot of display options; a telescope calculator; support for manual telescope alignment to an astronomical object; a real-time solar system simulator including planets, dwarf planets, asteroids and comets; database tables to compare and access astronomical objects. Albireo's astronomical database contains stars and galaxies, nebula, star cluster taken from the Messier- and NGC catalogue. Instant language switching English - German is enabled. Also, images of the most famous stellar objects are included.
The software is donationware which means that it is freeware without any restrictions. The author asks for a donation to compensate development and publishing expenses.
